Nursing Assistant FT Night

Full-time night shift position at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Nursing Float Pool.

About the role

Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient’s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team
• Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base
• Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
• Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Effective communication skills and basic math skills
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Qualifications

Preferred: Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program.

Pay

$20.89 - $26.20 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

• Full-time night shift
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly schedule varies depending on department needs
• Mandatory orientation
