Nursing Assistant/ Environmental Service

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and serve the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN).
• Contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Varying duties may include:
• Providing personal hygiene care
• Assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Negotiating and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process

Qualifications

• Certification/Licensure Requirements: BLS certification required within 3 months of hire. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire.
• Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Cleans and services patient, public, clinical, and administrative areas, maintaining a well-groomed appearance.
• Includes other designated activities such as management of linens and inventory distribution, stocking, and collection.
• Contact with patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly, may occur while performing job responsibilities.

$17.63 - $26.45 / hour
