Nursing Assistant, Certified - PRN
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Assists with basic health care needs including daily living activities, transfers, repositioning, and walking. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, documents resident interactions, communicates resident's condition, collects vital signs, and assists with wellness and recreational programs.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year, with a minimum of 12 hours annually
- Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license
