About the Role

This is a float position, not designated to a specific unit or neighborhood. The work hours for this role are 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. There are two permanent, non-competitive, full-time appointments available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled care to veterans and their dependents, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and general hygiene.
  • Assist with transferring residents and care of ostomies, colostomy, and ileostomy.
  • Maintain individual range of motion to prevent contractures.
  • Recognize and report abnormal signs and symptoms of common conditions and diseases.
  • Measure and record fluid intake.
  • Assist the healthcare team in treatments and observations, including all aspects of daily living care.

Requirements

  • Current New York Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • For reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Oxford employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Nursing Assistant Certified, Grade 8.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a geriatric setting.

Pay

Posted salary range ($49,735 - $53,743) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 8, plus a geographic pay differential of $4,000. If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) or more hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
