About the role

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units, ensuring compassionate and competent support.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Patient care areas

  • General Nursing Units: Care for patients aged 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.
  • Special Care Areas: Care for patients aged 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.
  • Maternal Child Units:
    • Labor and Delivery: Care for patients with pregnancy-related conditions by staff clinically competent in maternity care.
    • Nursery: Care for newborns until discharge by clinically competent staff.
    • Pediatric: Care for patients from neonate through age 18 by clinically competent staff.
  • GI Lab Unit: Care for patients from toddlers (beginning at 24 months) through adults by clinically competent staff.
  • Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units: Care for adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional problems by clinically competent nursing staff.
  • Emergency Unit: Provide care to patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric and high-risk adult care.
  • Surgical Services: Provide care to patients from neonate to geriatric.

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring a positive healthcare experience.
  • Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
