Nursing Assistant - Acute Care

Role Overview: The Nursing Assistant- Acute Care supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, focusing on promoting a positive patient experience and assisting with daily living activities. Key Responsibilities Provide patient-centered care by addressing needs, following care plans, and engaging patients and families.Perform basic patient care functions such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, vital signs, and comfort measures.Assist with advanced clinical skills like phlebotomy, dressing changes, Foley catheter removal, and simple treatments as required.Support safety protocols, maintain confidentiality, and participate in hourly patient rounding.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, documenting care in EMR.Transport supplies, medications, and equipment; support unit operations and performance improvement initiatives.Ensure a safe environment through infection control, proper body mechanics, and equipment maintenance. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED; completion of approved CNA or Patient Care Tech program preferred.Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; CNA certification preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively.Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with compassion and respect.
