About the Role

Kettering Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to serve as a member of our interdisciplinary patient care team. This full-time, night-shift position focuses on supporting patients with activities of daily living and performing patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse within the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice. The Nursing Assistant is responsible for maintaining and demonstrating knowledge, skill, and ability of the delegated tasks, supporting department operational needs, and performing other duties as assigned. The role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients with activities of daily living.
  • Perform patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse within the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
  • Maintain and demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability of delegated tasks.
  • Support department operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of Kettering Health Nursing Assistant orientation.
  • Certification in CPR/BLS.
  • One of the following:
    • Six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or a long-term care facility.
    • Completion of a Nursing Assistant course in the last six months.
    • Currently enrolled as a nursing student or listed as pre-nursing on transcripts.
    • Current employee with Kettering Health.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and function in a high-stress environment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and complete delegated tasks.
