Student Support & Academic Coaching
- Work with students individually and in small groups to assess learning styles, identify strengths, and uncover opportunities for academic development
- Provide individual or group tutoring to reinforce key concepts
- Participate in outreach to students with at-risk referrals
- Create and implement personalized remediation plans to support academic and professional success
NCLEX & Curriculum Support
- Demonstrate current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of concepts tested by the NCLEX-RN, as well as current nursing practice, to provide academic support
- Aid in the creation of Next Generation NCLEX activities and workshops
Simulation & Lab Experience
- Facilitate simulation-based experiences (SBE) and lab activities, including equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, set-up, and clean-up
- Assist in developing and implementing detailed, clinically based scenarios for simulated learning, including the use of high-fidelity patient simulators
- Cookordination and supervision of lab experiences to ensure students have the opportunity to meet course objectives
- Staff open lab sessions and provide individual oversight to students during practice and/or remediation of technical nursing skills, as required by course objectives
Collaboration, Communication & Reporting
- Collaborate with faculty, academic partners, and staff to support student success
- Communicate and document (report) students’ academic and co-curricular progress toward achievement of student and program learning outcomes to academic leadership (e.g., retention committee)
- Demonstrate service excellence through friendliness, courtesy, professionalism, effective communication, and a commitment to first-class service for students, team members, and external partners
Additional Responsibilities
- Comply with all policies and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Scheduling flexibility required, including evening and weekend hours to support campus and student needs
Qualifications
- Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred; Active, unencumbered RN license; BLS CPR certification required, ACLS and/or PALS certification preferred; BLS CPR Instructor certification required
- Experience: 1+ year experience supporting classroom instruction or tutoring in an academic environment is preferred
- Skills & Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills across phone, virtual, and in-person settings; Analytical thinking with effective problem-solving ability; High attention to detail, including proofreading accuracy; Ability to collaborate with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Team-oriented with a collaborative, knowledge-sharing mindset
