About the Role
South College is seeking a Nursing Academic Specialist to mentor and tutor BSN, ASN, and LPN nursing students in mastering didactic content throughout their educational journey. This on-site role reports to the Nursing Academic Manager at the Orlando Campus and involves collaboration with nursing faculty to identify strategies for student retention. The position requires support Monday through Friday, with weekend and evening availability as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support instruction, remediation, and evaluation in didactic concepts.
- Demonstrate accurate knowledge of concepts tested by the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN exams.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and accountability in all interactions.
- Develop and provide student workshops and study sessions.
- Provide 1:1 student support with nursing concepts.
- Offer group and individual support for NCLEX preparation.
- Mentor students to enhance their academic success.
- Help identify strategies to increase student retention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Unencumbered RN License.
- BLS CPR Certification.
Qualifications
- One-year experience in an academic setting (strongly preferred).
- Excellent communication skills via telephone, email, virtual, and in-person interactions.
- Mastery of ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute) tools and resources.
