Nursery PK2 Caregiver
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Caregiver for our Nursery/PK2 program in Austin, TX for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is up to 14 hours per week and does not require a teaching certification or formal teaching experience.
About the Role
Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The Caregiver role provides childcare/nursery support in a classical and Catholic environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and supervision for children in the Nursery/PK2 program
- Follow curriculum and grading guidelines provided by RCA
- Adhere to RCA standards for instruction and classroom management
- Complete background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to starting
- Attend one staff training day (August 4, 5, or 6, 8 am - 5 pm; no childcare provided, but nursing infants are welcome)
- Complete staff training videos and assessments
Requirements
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
- Availability on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
While not required, experience in the following areas is beneficial: homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school.
Schedule
- Part-time, up to 14 hours per week
- Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
- One staff training day (August 4, 5, or 6, 8 am - 5 pm)
