Nurse Technician (Medical Surgical)

About the role

A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

• Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Makes sure to monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and moving around.
• Observes and promptly reports any unusual physical, mental, or emotional findings.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and organized.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
• Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
• Documents patient care and activities according to hospital and unit standards.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Certifications:

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• A Handle with Care certification is preferred.

Schedule
