Schedule
Full Time Night Nurse Tech working 3–12-hour shifts 7:00pm - 7:00am + 1 8 hour Saturday per month. This position will work Monday - Friday the first week of employment, 8-hour day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care
- Assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of a RN
- Support the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department's competency program
- Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge
- Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN
- Cooperation and strong "team" focus required
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific
Qualifications
- Zero to six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred
