Nurse Tech 2 - OB/GYN - PRN
About the Role
A Nurse Tech 2 is a non-licensed health care provider responsible for assisting in the direct and indirect care of patients under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse. The NT-2 learns the role of the RN by assisting and observing the RN and is an integral part of the nursing care team. Responsibilities include hourly rounding, responding to patient and family requests, and meeting customer needs to promote a positive patient experience.
The employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the C/W5-OB/GYN unit, including knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
Responsibilities
- Assist in direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Participate in hourly rounding to meet patient and family needs.
- Respond to patient and family requests to promote a positive patient experience.
- Observe and assist the RN to learn the role and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the C/W5-OB/GYN unit.
- Assess and interpret patient data reflective of the patient's status.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN) and within 6 months of graduation.
- BLS certification completed prior to starting on the unit/department and maintained thereafter.
- De-escalation training.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Tech work experience.
