About the role
The Nurse Supervisor (RN) plays a crucial role in outpatient day-to-day nursing operations. Responsibilities include setting up, scheduling, staffing, purchasing equipment, quality initiatives, patient and physician satisfaction, and overseeing the daily operations of the department.
Responsibilities
- Developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing the Tidelands Health business plan and strategy
- Working with service line leadership to manage clinical staffing, scheduling, and training for nursing associates
- Ensuring effective patient flow and coordination of patient care in clinics
- Facilitating a cohesive working environment with effective communication at each location
- Overseeing the competencies of the nurse department staff and ensuring they follow regulatory and accrediting agencies' standards
- Maintaining clinical competence, performing competency and annual performance evaluations, and providing consultation in areas of expertise
- Maintaining operational effectiveness while emphasizing cost containment without compromising quality and safety of care
- Ensuring department operations and team members are knowledgeable of and compliant with applicable regulatory, licensing, and accrediting agency standards and state/federal laws
- Coordinating with leadership to provide an efficient, high-quality experience for patients and referral sources
- Making decisions that ensure quality and safe patient care in the absence of the dyad leadership team
- Participating in teamwork activities with peers and completing other duties as assigned by senior management
Requirements
- Aceessory's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- One to two (1-2) years nursing experience required
- Leadership experience in nursing preferred
- Proficiency with PC's and Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and prior Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
- Evidence of effective leadership, interpersonal skills, consensus, and team building skills required
- Analytical and operational problem-solving/decision-making skills with the ability to be innovative required
- The ability to be self-motivated to complete organizational projects and goals required
- The ability to demonstrate conflict resolution and problem-solving among associates, schedulers, physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare providers required
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire, recertification every two years required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association preferred
