Nurse Specialist Surgery

Summary

Circulates between specialty services including orthopedic, ophthalmology, neuro, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, CV cardiac, and minimally invasive surgery (including advanced da Vinci and Hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates specialty services
• Assists in establishing and promoting clinical standards for the surgery service
• Supports staff education in surgery/AORN standards to support patient care objectives

Requirements

• Essential Education: Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
• Essential Education Specialization: in a Nursing Program
• Experience: Three years experience in covered specialty (Surgery)
• Credentials: Registered Nurse-LIC, Basic Life Support, AORN member, Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
