Summary
The Nurse, Specialist - NFP will assist with the daily functions of Public Health, focusing on providing comprehensive community health nursing services to women and their families eligible for the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP).
About the Role
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provides home visits for women and families in the NFP Program.
- Supports the guidelines and standards of the NFP Program and Public Health.
- Promotes awareness of NFP throughout Tarrant County.
- Develops and maintains community relations to support NFP referrals.
- Completes all required NFP training and continuing education.
- Affirms physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of women and their families as per NFP guidelines.
- Consults and collaborates with other professionals involved in services to women and their families.
- Maintains a caseload of 25 active clients and fulfills reporting responsibilities.
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with two (2) years related experience OR an Associate’s degree in Nursing or equivalent and four (4) years of related experience.
- Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) RN license required.
- Texas RN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.
- Valid driver license, with good driving record.
