About the role
The CVOR Scrub Nurse Specialist is a professional scrub nurse in the operating room who, with minimal supervision, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of CV patients who require a surgical procedure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the orientation of professional and non-professional personnel as needed.
- Participates in departmental and hospital in service programs and committees as required.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives for optimal outcomes.
- Assumes responsibility for other assignments as requested.
Requirements
- Knows AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice and is an expert in the Principles of Sterile Technique.
- Knowledgeable regarding specialized CV instrumentation and maintenance.
- Demonstrates understanding of hemodynamic parameters and uses this knowledge to anticipate needs.
- Demonstrates interpretation of electrocardiographic information to continually access patient needs.
- Has the ability to be flexible and versatile while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Qualifications
- Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications: Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
