About the role

Providing general nursing support to doctors, including assisting, observations, administering medicines, and maintaining patient records. Ensuring confidentiality of patient records and providing care during hospitalization or observation under doctor supervision. Maintaining emergency equipment, performing clinical procedures, and supporting administrative tasks such as medical stock control.

Responsibilities

• Assisting doctors and performing general reception duties, including log keeping and maintaining patient records.
• Ensuring the confidentiality of patient records.
• Providing care to patients during hospitalization or observation under medical supervision.
• Maintaining a good working knowledge of all emergency equipment and performing weekly/monthly checks.
• Performing routine clinical procedures such as drawing blood for biochemical tests or performing urinalysis.
• Maintaining emergency and observation rooms in a well-stocked and tidy state.
• Providing administrative support, including medical stock control and inventory keeping.
• Actively participating in ongoing medical education and training.
• Providing medical escort duties when required.
• Serving as a team member of the site emergency response team.
• Undertaking alcohol screening or testing as specified in company policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with management, supervisors, and safety officers to promote health and well-being of employees and contractors.
• Attending site safety meetings and contributing to presentations, projects, and discussions.
• Supporting company-wide health promotion programs.
• Performing other duties as requested by the Head of Medical Services or designate, consistent with medical/clinical or administrative needs.
• Compiling weekly activity and statistical reports with doctors for the Medical Services Team Lead.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a nurse, preferably in a remote site or industrial setting.
• Oil & gas/construction industry experience is a strong bonus.
• Qualified as a Registered Nurse in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Experience in trauma, routine treatments, and occupational health.
• Secretarial/administrative experience may compensate for lack of nursing experience.
• Must obtain and maintain the Republic of Kazakhstan Alcohol testing license and be familiar with relevant legislation.

Required Competencies

• Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Effective communication skills; diplomatic and sensitive to others’ needs.
• Effective English language skills.
• Familiarity with basic principles of hygiene and infection control.
• Familiarity with basic food hygiene practices.
