We are seeking dedicated and caring nurses experienced in working directly with clients being treated for substance use disorders and mental health stabilization. This role involves minimal to no bedside care and focuses on critical thinking, policy adherence, and teamwork to support clients during a pivotal time in their recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
  • Arrange appropriate appointments with health care providers to secure complete physical examinations, health screenings, and supplemental tests.
  • Administer medications and supervise self-administered medications where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, and symptom management.
  • Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage for safety, care, and provider compliance.
  • Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
  • Assist in the facilitation of special events, including staff training, retreats, workshops, and facility events.
  • Implement health seminars on topics such as HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, and mental health.
  • Participate in treatment and multidisciplinary team meetings as directed.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
  • Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
  • Maintain LPN/RN license in good standing.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.

PRN positions require a minimum of 3 shifts per month. You will be required to work rotating weekends, including one off-shift per week to ensure program coverage. May be required to work shifts outside of assigned hours during critical staffing shortages. The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day, including New Year’s Eve night shift). Other holidays will be rotated among all staff. This position is deemed essential and will require working during inclement weather. For sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any program based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Must have a valid LPN or RN license in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Experience:

  • New graduates and newly licensed LPNs and RNs are welcomed and encouraged to apply; direct job experience is not required.
  • LPN 1: Recent graduate with up to one (1) year of experience.
  • LPN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years of nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
  • LPN 3: Five (5) or more years of nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
  • RN 1: Recent graduate with up to one (1) year of experience.
  • RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years of nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
  • RN 3: Five (5) or more years of nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.

Pay

  • LPN: $31.36–$33.51 per hour
  • RN: $34.38–$46.26 per hour

Schedule

  • Shift: Evening
  • PRN positions require a minimum of 3 shifts per month.
  • Rotating weekends, including one off-shift per week.
  • May be required to work additional shifts during critical staffing shortages.
  • Minimum holiday requirement: 1 major summer holiday and 1 major winter holiday.
  • Essential position; required to work during inclement weather.
