Nurse (RN/LPN) PRN

Position Description

You will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team by overseeing staff assignments and providing comprehensive supervision of resident care.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) program with a current licensure in the state of Kansas.
• Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership abilities and a willingness to collaborate with both professional and nonprofessional personnel.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete all required record-keeping forms and charts during a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other important events.
• Ensure that these records are appropriately filed in the resident's chart and/or forwarded to the relevant department.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including making necessary arrangements for transportation and packing.
• Administer professional services, including but not limited to catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, specimen collection, and other medical procedures as outlined by the facility's policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the facility's consultants as required and implement recommended changes under the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON).
• Investigate and address complaints and grievances, providing necessary oral and written reports to the DON.
• Exchange nursing reports at the beginning and end of your shift duty hours.
• Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional well-being.
• Keep the DON informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
