Nurse RN | Emergency Department Admit Nurse | Full Time | 7A-7P

Registered Nurse (RN) providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process and professional standards. Functions as a staff nurse and charge nurse when assigned, maintaining accountability for assigned patients even when delegating tasks to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are tailored to the age and developmental level of patients served.

Qualifications

• Serves patients of all age groups.
• Required: Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• New hires (effective June 14, 2017) must obtain a BSN within three years of hire or transfer.
• New hires or transfers (August 1, 2013 – June 13, 2017) must comply with conditions in their offer letter.
• Current employees hired before August 1, 2013, are grandfathered.
• Preferred: BSN degree.

• Demonstrates teamwork and professional communication with all healthcare team members.
• Ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures affecting patient care delivery.

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Florida RN license or eligibility for issuance upon receipt of SSN.
• BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required on the first day of employment.
• ACLS (American Heart Association) required at hire or transfer for: Cardiac Holding Area, CVICU, MICU, PICU, North Pre Op/PACU, and Trauma Center.
• ACLS required within six months for: 3 ICU-North, 5N CCU, Cardiac Rehab, Non-Invasive Cardiology North, Noninvasive Cardiac Lab, and Progressive RNs in ICUs.
• PALS (American Heart Association) required within six months for PICU and Trauma Center.
• Fellowship RNs must obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within six months if required by the department.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training required within 90 days (and annually) for Psych Unit.
• Professional certification preferred.

Experience

• Required: Less than one year of related experience.
• Preferred: One year of clinical experience.
