Nurse-Registered Weekender Traditional Night-Neurology

Responsibilities

• Affords appropriate and accurate assessment of the patient based on their medical condition.
• Displays knowledge of ordered medications and administers them as prescribed.
• Provides care suitable to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness; includes the family in teaching as appropriate.
• Demonstrates the ability to utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
• Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services that require technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicates with social services regarding both hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Promotes cost-effective practices and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linen, and charge items.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
• Engages in lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.

Specifications

• Experience: Minimum required: 1 year of experience.
• Education: Minimum required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Minimum required: RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preferred/required: ACLS/PALS specialty certification.
