Nurse Practitioner - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 8:00-5:00 PM

About the Role

The Family Nurse Practitioner performs duties under the direct supervision of a physician. Supervision entails overseeing medical services rendered by the practitioner, with the supervising physician available via telecommunications and within reasonable distance to assume personal care.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all current laws, rules, and regulations governing Family Nurse Practitioners in California.
• Gather comprehensive patient databases, including medical history, physical examinations, medical record reviews, and initial diagnostic studies.
• Initiate treatment plans and communicate findings orally or through medical records to the supervising physician for review.
• Order dangerous drugs, controlled substances, medical treatments, or diagnostic studies in any healthcare setting.
• Perform medical treatments, diagnostic procedures, or tasks as delegated by the supervising physician within their scope of practice.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families on illness, treatments, growth and development, family planning, advanced directives, and emotional issues.
• Facilitate patient referrals to other providers, facilities, or health/social service agencies as appropriate.
• Initiate emergency evaluation and treatment in life-threatening situations when the supervising physician is unavailable.
• Wear proper identification as a Family Nurse Practitioner at all times, including a name tag labeled "Family Nurse Practitioner."
• Carry out prescription drug or device orders in any healthcare setting.
• Perform additional duties as delegated by the physician based on experience, training, and hospital or clinic privileges.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Family Nurse Practitioner training program approved by the National Commission of Certification of Family Nurse Practitioners (NCCFNP).
• Current valid license as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the Medical Board of California and Physician Assistant Examining Committee.
• Possession of or eligibility to apply for a furnishing number.
• Previous clinical experience in adult and pediatric assessment and treatment preferred.
• Willingness to work with a broad spectrum of patients and community programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
• Commitment to providing high-quality healthcare.
• Willingness to adapt to changes in clinic schedules, agency growth, and expansion.

Pay

Annual salary range: $143,763.00 – $148,498.00.
