About the role

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our innovative Crisis Stabilization Unity (CSU). The CSU is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, medication evaluations, and medication management services for CSU patients, collaborating closely with nurses, prescribers, mental health clinicians, and case management staff.
• Support AMHR's Psychiatric Access Clinic by providing timely evaluations and care for individuals needing urgent psychiatric services when CSU census levels allow.
• Work alongside experienced prescribers in a collaborative environment focused on delivering state-of-the-art psychiatric care, psychotherapy, and social interventions within a five-day overnight crisis unit.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with Prescriptive Authority
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry
• Certified as an advanced practitioner of nursing by the Colorado State Board of Nursing
• Valid and Current DEA
• Current knowledge of pharmacology
• Ability to administer medications and injections
• Knowledge of diagnoses and theoretical issues related to clinical treatment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record
• Treatment philosophy consistent with managed care principles
