About the role

Are you interested in starting your career as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with New York State? St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Children and Youth (SLPC C&Y) - Massena Wellness Center is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry to provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented behavioral health services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

Responsibilities

• Providing psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, treatments, and medication management.
• Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives.
• Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed.
• Maintaining medical records and documentation.

Requirements

• Certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Psychiatry specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department (eligible for the NY HELPS program).
• OR, for current State Service employees: one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a psychiatric environment.

Pay

Posted salary: statutory job rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($120,439) plus a geographic differential ($25,000) = $145,439.
