About the role
At Curana Health, we’re reimagining how seniors receive compassionate, comprehensive psychiatric care. We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team and provide high-quality mental health support across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), Assisted Living (AL), and Independent Living (IL) communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
- Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
- Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
- Work alongside physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active DEA license.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities.
