About the role

The Nurse Practitioner manages the care of a specified group of patients in accordance with mutually agreed-upon protocols and within the policies and procedures established by the Department of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, and NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group (NYPMG).

Responsibilities

  • Manage care for a specified group of patients in accordance with mutually agreed-upon protocols and policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions under the supervision of a physician.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide preventive care services, including immunizations and screenings.
  • Document patient care in electronic health records (EHRs) accurately and timely.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain competency and stay current with best practices.
  • Conduct patient education sessions and counseling on various health topics.
  • Interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Preferred Criteria:
    • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty of practice.
    • Three years of primary care experience.
  • Required Criteria:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Master’s Degree in the specialty of practice or completed alternative certification requirements for graduates of nurse practitioner programs prior to April 1, 1989.
    • Current NYS RN license.
    • Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Experience in primary care settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly EHR systems.

Pay

$157,500 - $180,758/Annual

Schedule

Full time 40-hour workweek Monday-Friday with one shift of 11:00 AM-7:00 PM may vary.

Location

Located at 1985 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY - Northern Westchester County.
