Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Center for Cancer and Aging
Overview
In collaboration with the Center’s Director of Geriatrics, the Oncology NP/PA manages care within the CCA, primarily outpatient with possibility for inpatient. The NP/PA is responsible for acute and chronic problems associated with cancer, cancer treatment, and/or co-morbid conditions related with aging.

Job Description
The new Center for Cancer and Aging (CCA), planned to launch by the end of 2026, will provide geriatric oncology services to older adults age 65 and older across the Institute. The CCA offers a consultative service that provides geriatric assessment, recommendations and longitudinal follow-up to the patient, caregiver/partners, and their medical oncology care team. The NP/PA for the Center should have demonstrated interest and commitment to the field of geriatrics and working with older adult populations.
Qualifications
- Authorization to practice in an expanded role as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing for Nurse Practitioners
- Minimum of 24 contact hours beyond generic education in pharmacotherapeutics
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Three years of oncology nursing experience or Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- Oncology Nurse Practitioner, Geriatrics, or Geriatric oncology experience preferred
- In possession of Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Federal DEA numbers
- Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred - OCN, AOCN, CPON, BMTCN, CPHON
- Nurse Practitioners who have picked geriatrics as their field of choice preferred.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
$108,797.71 - $283,365.15
Terms and Conditions of Employment
The terms and conditions of employment for Nurse Practitioners at Dana-Farber are governed by a collective bargaining unit through the Massachusetts Nurses Association at our Longwood, Chestnut Hill, and Merrimack Valley locations.
Physician Assistant Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree and successful completion of an AAPA/NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant Studies program are required.
- Must be NCCPA Certified and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts.
- Must maintain current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses, and complete 100 hours of CME according to national and state regulations during each 2-year period of employment.
- Certified gerontology experience preferred (ACNPC-AG, GS-C, AGPCNP-BC, American Geriatrics Society PA training)
- PA I: No professional experience required.
- PA II: 2 years of qualifying professional Physician Assistant experience
- PA III: 5 years of qualifying professional Physician Assistant experience
Pay Range
Physician Assistant: $126K - $283K based on years of relevant experience
