Brief Description

POSITION TITLE: Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Physician in Oklahoma with current DEA Number preferred, or licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with history of training and/or experience in Psychiatry or prescribing psychiatric medications.

Example Of Position Responsibilities

  • A Review condition of agency clients referred to medication clinic and determine efficacy of intervention with medication.
  • A Prescribe medications for clients, as needed, in keeping with accepted clinical practice of Psychiatry and consistent with credentials.
  • A Consult and advise clinical staff, as necessary, in the provision of services and client care issues.
  • D Record client contacts in the medical records and agency mechanisms for tracking, billing, and reporting client services on a timely basis and meeting standards of care.
  • E Refer clients as necessary through primary clinician to resources to address general health concerns not related to psychopathology.
  • C Supports and promotes a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives.
  • C Evaluates all available clinical data (including laboratory and other instrumental reports) pertaining to consumers' physical status and addresses compliance regarding any laboratory testing.
  • A Provide Peer Review for other physicians as a Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement activity.
  • A, B, E Practices and promotes the Sanctuary model seven commitments: nonviolence, emotional intelligence, social learning, open communication, social responsibility, democracy and growth and change.
  • B, C General Expectations To schedule clients according to needs of agency and consistent with standards of practice as well as meeting productivity expectations.
  • Abide by established protocols, policies, and procedures of the agency and Federal and State regulatory agencies.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
HIPAA: This position is permitted to locate information necessary to follow through with client care or provide authorization for release of information outside agency. Information should be requested from medical records staff initially or With authorization from administration, retrieve necessary information without supervision.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, staff member regularly is required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time, use hand to finger and moving fingers in a repetitive motion manner or feel controls; and reach with hands and arms. Staff member may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of job, the employee providing own transportation may travel to Sand Springs and is exposed to changing weather conditions.

Clinical Director (Executive Director in absence of Clinical Director)

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

Exempt.

HOURS

Variable hours which includes on-call coverage for the Youth Evaluation Services and CALM center.

OTHER BENEFITS

Malpractice Insurance Coverage ($1,000,000).

SUPERVISEES

Physician will be responsible for oversight of the activities of Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants as appropriate or assigned.
