Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant | Advanced Practitioners - OB/GYN | Day | Full-Time

About the role

This position offers opportunities in multiple areas including Inpatient, Emergency Department, Clinic, and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Responsibilities

• Assists attending physicians in the care and management of patients.
• Makes patient rounds and contributes to daily care decisions.
• Writes orders and interacts with consultants.
• Schedules therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Makes frequent bedside visits to assess patient status and direct care.
• May see patients in the clinic environment.
• Consults with supervisory physicians to determine appropriate patient care.
• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients.
• Takes medical histories, performs physical examinations, coordinates lab tests, diagnostic studies, and prescribes medications.
• Shares call hours, phone coverage, and sees admitted patients within the hospital.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nursing program.
• Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Florida.
• BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• OB/GYN experience preferred.
