About the role
Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of its diverse, multilingual community through accessible, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Performs health assessments, including thorough history and physical examinations, diagnostic testing, medication orders, and evaluation of psychosocial and family aspects.
- Manages common acute and chronic illnesses, initiates life-saving procedures in emergencies, and oversees medical assistants, lab personnel, and other non-professional medical staff.
- Directs medical assistants, lab personnel, and other non-professional medical staff as appropriate, and provides in-service training for staff in selected topics.
- Maintains electronic health records, completes medical records, manages Inbox and results, codes, and signs off charts within the designated timeframe.
- Participates in internal quality control audits, ensures adherence to quality standards, discusses or refers complex and high-priority patient cases, and works as a member of the health care team.
- Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences, participates on task forces or committees, and provides additional assistance within and outside of the clinical arena.
Requirements
- Board certified/eligible in designated specialty field of practice is required.
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of California, including a DEA license, and hold a valid CPR certification.
- Previous experience providing medical care within a community health setting is preferred.

- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with training.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and respect among patients, staff, colleagues, external contacts, and other organizational members.
- Effective communication skills, both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of confidentiality and ability to maintain patient information securely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including creativity, resourcefulness, timeliness, and technical knowledge relevant to analyzing and resolving medical problems.
- Sensitivity to the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse patient and employee populations.
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed, and to travel to other TVHC sites or locations.
- Bilingual, especially Spanish, is preferred but not required.

Pay
$69.39 – $87.91 per hour ($144,331.20 – $182,852.80 annually), plus a signing bonus!
Schedule
We offer flexible schedules ranging from 20-40 hours per week, Monday–Saturday.
