Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Urgent Care
About the role
Xpress Wellness is seeking newly graduated Family Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to start their careers in a supportive clinical environment. The robust new-provider training program helps recent graduates transition from the classroom into practice.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of illnesses, injuries, and episodic healthcare needs
- Perform patient histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries
- Care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Order and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging
- Develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans
- Prescribe medications within the provider’s scope of practice
- Identify patients who require emergency or specialty care
- Complete timely and accurate medical documentation
- Provide clear education to patients and families
- Work collaboratively with clinic staff and clinical leadership
- Perform or develop proficiency in urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, splinting, and basic orthopedic care
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Famil Nurse Practitioner certification for NP applicants
- National certification appropriate to the provider’s discipline
- Eligibility for an Oklahoma or Kansas professional license
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to treating patients of all ages
- Interest in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency medicine
- Willingness to develop procedural skills and accept clinical feedback
Qualifications
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Previous urgent care experience is not required
- DOT medical examiner certification is preferred
- Candidates who are not currently certified should be willing to complete the certification process after joining the organization

Pay
Final compensation will be determined by qualifications, relevant experience, market conditions, and the selected clinic location.
Schedule
Providers work a full-time schedule of only 7 twelve-hour shifts during each 14-day period.
