About the role
The mid-level provider for Surgical Home is a licensed independent practitioner who manages health problems and coordinates health care for the perioperative patient in accordance with state, federal and organizational guidelines. Perioperative preparation and clinical management is conducted in collaboration with the department of anesthesia to ensure optimal outcomes post-operatively. Responsibilities include the completeness of all medical aspects related to surgery, including diagnostic studies, medical evaluation, physical examination, documentation in the EHR, consultations, and coordination of services such as PT/OT, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and post-discharge needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage health problems and coordinate care for perioperative patients
- Conduct perioperative preparation and clinical management in collaboration with anesthesia
- Ensure completeness of all medical aspects related to surgery, including diagnostic studies, medical evaluation, and physical examination
- Document care in the EHR and coordinate consultations and services such as PT/OT, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and post-discharge needs
Requirements
- CRNP: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program
- PA: Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CRNP or PA in a surgical services setting
- Office experience preferred
Licensure/Certification
- CRNP: Active RN and APRN certification and license, including prescriptive authority, in Pennsylvania
- PA: Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, and board certification in Pennsylvania
Skills
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications or completion within 6 months of hire
