Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - PRN - Urgent Care Stafford

Come join our team as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) and make a meaningful impact in an urgent care setting. This professional-level role involves providing direct patient care under limited direction, collaborating with an APN lead (for NPs) or the Medical Director (for PAs).

Responsibilities

• Perform and provide treatments for minor acute illnesses, patient examinations, initial assessments, and initiate treatment or referrals as needed.
• Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies) and interpreting results.
• Perform therapeutic procedures, including administering injections, immunizations, suturing, wound management, and infection control.
• Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, wellness, health maintenance, and normal growth/development.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and ensure continuity of care; may supervise ancillary staff.
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens; refer patients to specialists or relevant care options as appropriate.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, coordinate services with co-workers and other departments, and respond calmly to stressful situations.
• Act professionally and empathetically to build trust, comfort, and relationships with patients and guests, aligning with Studer Principles.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in a relevant field.
• Master of Science in Nursing (for NPs).
• Successful completion of the American Nursing Association National Certification Test for Advanced Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (for NPs).
• Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam (PANCE) (for PAs).
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification required at hire.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in family practice, urgent care, or emergency services.
• Proficient leadership skills.

Pay

$75.00 per hour.
