Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Medical Staff Services - Full Time Night

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is a 306-bed medical center, providing care to residents of eastern Long Island. The hospital facility is home to the Knapp Cardiac Care Center—an advanced heart disease diagnostic and treatment facility—as well as a modern ambulatory surgical pavilion with specialized services including women's imaging, a sleep laboratory, and bariatric surgery.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Medical Staff Services - Full Time Night - Medical Staff. In this role, the successful candidate Nurse practitioners (NP) are dedicated to providing quality, professional, cost-effective health care to all patients at NYULH - Suffolk.
Responsibilities
Nurse practitioners (NP) provide services as a licensed independent practitioner (LIP) collaborating with a licensed physician fulfilling a broad range of medical services that would otherwise be provided by the physician.
- Assessment and Reassessment of Patients
- Introduces/identifies self as a nurse practitioner
- Assists the physician with patient management focusing on quality care and a well-planned, timely discharge
- Communicates professionally and effectively with the patient's physician, and as appropriate, consulting physicians, case managers, nurses, and other Hospital staff any patient information that may affect discharge or the patient's hospital course.
- Performs initial and ongoing assessment/history and physical examination
- Assesses/reassesses patient's condition and care plan
- Orders and interprets tests/results(lab, radiology, ekg, etc.) based on patient need
- Orders medications and treatments
- Documents care in the chart in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Formulates diagnoses
- Formulates and implements patient care and treatment plans.
Requirements
- Graduate of NP educational program approved by the State of New York
- Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center
- Bachelors and Masters degrees
- Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges.

Pay
The salary range for the role is $138,176.08 - $169,616.08 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
