Aurora Medical Center Kenosha/Mount Pleasant is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Interventional Pulmonology Program. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of complex pulmonary diseases.
Responsibilities
- Partner in the continued growth and development of Interventional Pulmonology services at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha/Mount Pleasant.
- Assist with and support a variety of pulmonary procedures, including thoracentesis, chest tube management, pleural disease interventions, and other advanced pulmonary procedures.
- Evaluate patients before and after procedures, coordinating laboratory testing, imaging studies, and treatment plans.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate management plans, and provide longitudinal pulmonary care.
- Manage patients independently while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary specialists.
- Care for patients across outpatient and hospital settings to ensure seamless patient experiences.
- Conduct daily inpatient rounds and follow hospitalized pulmonary patients.
- Evaluate and manage pulmonary consults from inpatient units and the Emergency Department.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and primary care providers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Facilitate smooth care transitions and comprehensive discharge planning.
- Serve as a key member of a growing multidisciplinary Lung Nodule Program.
- Evaluate and manage patients with incidental and screening-detected pulmonary nodules.
- Coordinate timely diagnostic workups, imaging surveillance, specialty referrals, and procedural interventions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary lung nodule conferences and thoracic oncology tumor boards.
- Guide patients through complex diagnostic and treatment pathways while providing education and support.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Master's or doctoral degree required.
- Preferred but not required prior experience in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, or related specialty.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Current Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Active DEA registration.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Master's or doctoral degree required.
- Experience: Prior experience in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, or related specialty preferred but not required.
- Licensure & Certification: Current Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure), current BLS and ACLS certification, active DEA registration.
