The Hospital Medicine APPs practice at the top of their license with substantial autonomy and serve as core clinical leaders within interdisciplinary teams. Depending on assignment, care is delivered through a combination of in-person and virtual workflows for medically complex adult patients.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage high-volume, rapid-turnover patients in the Care Transition Unit (CTU).
- Admit, transfer, and manage hospitalized and observation patients.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
- Formulate diagnoses and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Lead inpatient and observation care plans, including escalation and de-escalation decisions.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of prior NPPA experience is required.
- Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
- Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
- Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
