The Hospital Medicine APPs practice at the top of their license with substantial autonomy and serve as core clinical leaders within interdisciplinary teams. Depending on assignment, care is delivered through a combination of in-person and virtual workflows for medically complex adult patients.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage high-volume, rapid-turnover patients in the Care Transition Unit (CTU).
• Admit, transfer, and manage hospitalized and observation patients.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
• Formulate diagnoses and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Lead inpatient and observation care plans, including escalation and de-escalation decisions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of prior NPPA experience is required.
• Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
