About the role

The position requires a current unrestricted medical license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Three to five years of relevant experience is preferred. The role is an on-call/casual 0.0 FTE position supporting the Hutchinson Health Urgent Care Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the plan of care for the pediatric, adult and geriatric patient populations reflect: An understanding and ability to obtain information/perform assessment and react effectively to the unique needs of these patients.
• Assessment information that reflects physical, psychosocial, developmental and cognitive data specific to the age of the patient; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
• Provides urgent and acute care efficiently and accurately.
• Provides ongoing patient education and counseling.
• Treats acute care/chronic problems efficiently and accurately resulting in patient satisfaction.
• Orders labs, x-rays, and diagnostic tests to facilitate the correct diagnosis in a cost-efficient manner.
• Determines when a patient’s problem is serious enough to transfer patient to a higher level of care.
• Participate in community health programs which promote wellness and health education.
• Utilizes appropriate sourcing of supervising physician for clinical decision-making support.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Pay

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Minimum of one, six-hour shift per month is required. Urgent Care is open Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am - 3:00pm. Urgent Care is open all holidays.
