Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hospital Medicine

About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. You will work under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician, in collaboration with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating medical and nursing care, managing critical patients, teaching residents and medical students, developing staff education, and facilitating patient education and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes approved medical practices process in delivering all patient care
• Maintains inquiry-based approach to medical practices and patient care outcomes
• Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community
• Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, adjusting explanations, and communicating effectively
• Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree in Nursing, Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), ANCC or AANPCP Certified, Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program, License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing

Qualifications

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols
• Reliable transportation for travel between facilities

Skills

• Proficient with Windows-style applications
• Software packages specific to role
• Keyboard dexterity
