About the role

The CRNP and PA positions at PAM Health provide opportunities for advanced practitioners to specialize in clinical areas and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Examines and treats patients independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
  • Works under minimal supervision, directing the work of others within the scope of practice.
  • Aids collaborating physician in patient admissions and discharges.
  • Reviews patient records, obtains relevant health and medical histories, performs physical examinations, and documents findings.
  • Makes rounds to monitor patient progress and assess overall health status.
  • Performs or orders diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, formulates differential diagnoses, and implements treatment plans.
  • Prescribes medications and treatments as authorized under the Medical Practice Act.
  • Provides patient and family counseling and education, initiates consults and referrals, and continuously reassesses and adjusts the plan of care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited program.
  • Current Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state where hospital resides.
  • Current ACLS and Healthcare Provider/BLS certifications required.
  • Current national certification with an accredited testing organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of acute experience, critical access care required.

Qualifications

  • Education and Training:
    • Master’s degree with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited program.
    • Education and Training for Physician Assistant:
      • Demonstrated successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities.
      • Current unrestricted State license as a Physician Assistant.
      • Valid and current certificate issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA).
      • Completion of 40 hours of Continuing Medical Education per year.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of acute experience, critical access care required.
    • Physician Assistant: Prefer at least 12 months of clinical PA experience.
