Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers' Compensation standards and laws.
- Performs regulatory testing, TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, drug testing if required.
- Performs examinations for employee medical surveillance programs including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, or exit exams.
- Provides return-to-work clearances as appropriate.
- Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
- Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed.
Clinic Management
Maintains frequent communication with Medical Director and WorkCare Supervisor regarding all clinic issues and client requests.
Medical Records and Private Health Information
Maintains employee health records and databases. Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information. Responsibly handles and guards Protected Health Information. Follows all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Client Interaction
Develops and maintains good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co-workers and WorkCare supervisors and managers. Communicates with appropriate client management frequently. Provides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, WorkCare and by law. Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Idaho with national certification in the state applying to.
- Must have unrestricted DEA license.
- Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
- A minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferred.

- Competent in the Windows operating system environment.
- Competent in Adobe Professional.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, &Teams).
- Will learn other software (example: SAP, Cority, etc.) as needed.
Physical Demands
- Sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
- Sometimes bending and stretching.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Daily walk to & from parking lot to clinic.
- May drive emergency vehicle within the site when responding to an incident.
Work Environment
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.
- Clinic is located within the protected/regulated area.
Pay and Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $71- $75 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits for this position include pro-rated PTO and 401k.
