Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Responsibilities
- Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform obstetrical/gynecological, adult, child, and adolescent physical assessments
- Apply current immunization standards
- Provide initial emergency measures and treatments (e.g., cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisonings)
- Comply with HIPAA confidentiality requirements and OSHA standards in clinical settings
- Utilize community resources for patient referral
- Work within the Patient Centered Medical Home model
- Comply with physician direction and understand technical/professional instructions
- Recognize when to refer clients to a physician or another healthcare provider
- Prescribe medications with current knowledge of medication effects
- Accurately record and maintain medical records
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all Health Center and Family Planning matters
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, other agency personnel, and the public
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited University School of Nursing and preparation as a Nurse Practitioner or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant in the State of Montana
- Nurse practitioner national certification as stipulated by the Montana State Board of Nursing or NCCPA national certification as stipulated by the Montana Board of Medical Examiners
- Certification in BLS
- Current DEA license
Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with at least two years of experience performing the functions of an advanced level clinical provider
- Effective oral and written communication skills
