Nurse Practitioner or PA -Addiction Medicine

Wilmington Treatment Center is a leading behavioral health facility providing comprehensive addiction and mental health treatment services for adults who are dealing with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. The facility offers a full continuum of care, including detoxification, inpatient/residential treatment, and outpatient services.

About the role

We are seeking Full-Time Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for two roles—Addiction Medicine and Psychiatry—to support patients receiving specialized substance use and mental health treatment.

• Physician Assistant (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP/AGNP): This position will serve as an additional provider on our clinical team, helping support patient care and meet the growing needs of our patient population.
• Dual-Certified PMHNP/FNP or PMHNP/AGNP, or a Physician Assistant with a CAQ in Psychiatry: This role requires expertise in both psychiatric and primary care services, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with behavioral health and medical needs. Candidates should have experience providing integrated care and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical evaluations and treatment of patients within the facility under the supervision of the Medical Director, collaborating with medical and clinical staff in accordance with state licensure guidelines.
• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team.
• Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plan.
• Assess physical and psychiatric health of patients and formulate measures to meet patient needs.
• Chart clinical observations (direct or through dictation), evaluations, and treatment of patients in required time according to facility guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians and other staff as necessary to provide quality care for patients within appropriate guidelines.
• Encourage family involvement in patient care and respond to identified patient and family educational needs.
• Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide services in accordance with state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
• Provide on-call responsibilities on a scheduled basis as directed by medical staff.
• Focus on health promotion and disease prevention; order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays; prescribe medication.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Requirements

• Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program required.
• Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment, and patient care.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Practicing Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
• Licensed to practice in the state in which the facility operates.
• DEA license.
