About the role

Provides medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Provides comprehensive medical services for patients on a continuing basis. Examines patients using medical instruments and equipment. Elicits, records, reviews and communicates to patients information about patient's medical history. Orders or executes various tests to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examinations, and diagnoses condition of patient. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods of prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Performs outpatient procedures commensurate with outpatient privileging. Refers patients to specialists for consultant services when necessary for the patient's well-being. Refers patients to the Emergency Department for emergent or life-threatening conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assigns appropriate aspects of care to non-physician staff based on diagnosis and evaluation of the patients.
• Plans and carries out treatment/therapy for patients, informing and educating them, making referrals for specialized treatment, and following up on progress.
• Completes all charts and dictation (if applicable) within 3 days of visit, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Maintains active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Coordinates orders being placed in a timely manner.
• Performs outpatient procedures commensurate with outpatient privileging.
• Refers patients to specialists for consultant services when necessary for the patient's well-being.
• Refers patients to the Emergency Department for emergent or life-threatening conditions.
• Works collaboratively and cooperatively with ancillary and support staff, peer providers, and within the organization.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse and ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with women's health services.
• Desired: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Midwife License.
