Nurse Practitioner (Non-Institutional)
About the role
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide advanced nursing care in an outpatient or community-based setting in South Carolina. This role involves preventive healthcare, evaluation, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions under written protocols and practice agreements with collaborating physicians. The NP may also supervise healthcare staff, mentor student nurse practitioners, and support public health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients
- Prescribe medications
- Provide health education in an outpatient or community setting
- Cook up referrals
- Supervise staff
- Mentor students
- Support quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the Master’s or Doctoral level in a program acceptable to the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Licensure: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Active RN license issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a Compact License.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient or community-based settings preferred.
- Experience in supervising healthcare staff and mentoring students.
- Experience in supporting public health initiatives.
