Nurse Practitioner Neurosurgery
About the Role
As our Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, you will be an advanced practice provider working alongside neurosurgeons to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system. You will serve as a vital clinical partner, balancing intricate inpatient care, surgical assisting, and comprehensive outpatient clinic management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, obtain medical histories, formulate diagnoses, and manage pre/post-operative care in clinic.
- Order and interpret diagnostics (MRIs, CTs, labs).
- Act as primary first assistant during major cranial (e.g., craniotomies) and spinal (e.g., fusions, decompressions) procedures.
- Perform bedside/in-office procedures like lumbar punctures, EVD management, and shunt taps.
- Conduct daily inpatient rounds, write progress notes, manage acute neurological emergencies, and coordinate comprehensive care plans from admission to discharge.
- Adhere to AMA medical ethics and relevant professional standards.
- Leverage our Physician Group's comprehensive resources (supply chain, tech trainers, credentialing, etc.) to optimize efficiency and clinical focus.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing as Nurse Practitioner.
- Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry.
- Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty.
- RN License required.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required.
- ACLS from the American Heart Association required.
- Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
- Two years of experience in a surgical, orthopedic, or neurological setting highly preferred.

Pay
$154,614 - $154,614/year
