Responsibilities
- Provides patient and family centered IV infusion care.
- Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team.
- Incorporates the patient and family in care planning and treatment across settings.
- Serves as an advocate for patients and families in navigating the health care system.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with physicians, health professionals, health related agencies, patients and families.
- Works effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
- Promotes mutual respect and trust working within a team model.
- Reviews, updates and recommends relevant medical, clinical and administrative policies, procedures and education & skills to help assure high quality patient care.
- Actively participates in quality initiatives.
- Maintains accurate and timely records and reports, participates in patient service and program reviews.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school.
- Active and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse license in the state where you practice, as well as current active board certification with ANCC or AANP.
- May substitute a degree and certification from NCCPA with an active, unrestricted license in the state you practice.
- Must have a current CPR certification (BLS minimum, including hands-on/in-person assessment).
- Experience: 2 years of experience as an NP or PA in a clinical setting required or 3+ years as a Registered Nurse in oncology, ER, ICU, and/or infusion center. Infusion experience is required.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
