Nurse Practitioner I

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive histories and physical exams
• Management of neurologic symptoms, monitoring for medication tolerability and adherence, and coordinating care among team of practitioners
• Coordinate admissions and discharges of inpatients on occasion
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, manage routine visits independently and more complex visits in collaboration with the attending physician
• Manage inquiries and patient concerns over the phone and patient communication portal
• Participate in performance of clinical trials
• Other related duties as assigned/required

Requirements

• Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of relevant nursing experience
• A current New York State NP and RN license
• Experience in neurologic patient care
• Able to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements, prior to starting
• Proficiency with diagnostic Lumbar Puncture or willingness to learn is required
• Experience in an academic medical center
• Experience in Multiple Sclerosis nursing is preferred, but not required
• Spanish proficiency
