Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical histories in both English and Spanish
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for diverse conditions such as acute pain management, infectious diseases, geriatrics, pediatrics, and chronic illnesses
- Administer injections, perform suturing, IV infusions, catheterizations, and other procedures using sterile techniques
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records
- Provide health coaching and education tailored to patient needs, promoting wellness and disease prevention strategies
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists (such as gastroenterology or dermatology), and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
- Manage triage calls and urgent cases efficiently within telehealth or in-person settings while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic medical imaging when necessary
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current state certification; bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
- Proven experience in clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation standards
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with telehealth platforms is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to perform procedures such as suturing, dermal fillers administration (nice-to-have), phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, and sterile processing techniques
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II Trauma Center background highly desirable
- Knowledge of specialized areas such as geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, occupational health or infectious disease care is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills in both languages; compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on cultural competence
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
