Nurse Practitioner/ APRN

Full-time position (30 or 40 hours per week) with 10-hour shifts at Northern NH Correctional Facility in Berlin, NH. Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is a leading correctional health care provider with over 30 years of experience serving justice-involved patients.

About the Role

Provides medical services to an incarcerated population, focusing on ambulatory and primary care. Delivers a broad range of medical services, including assessment, identification, and treatment of acute and chronic medical concerns, health education, and illness/injury prevention. Performs advanced medical procedures such as suturing wounds, administering medications and injections, and providing wound care. Coordinates care with other health care professionals and orders medications in compliance with licensure, company, and facility guidelines. Utilizes EMR for charting and documenting patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assess, identify, and treat medical concerns (acute and/or chronic) for incarcerated patients.
• Provide health education and promote illness and injury prevention.
• Perform advanced medical procedures, including suturing, wound care, and administering medications/injections.
• Write prescription orders for drugs and order medications following licensure authority.
• Coordinate with other health care employees to deliver comprehensive care.
• Document patient information in chronological order using EMR.

Requirements

• New Hampshire Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license and NP certification required at start date.
• New Hampshire DEA certification required at start date.
• Current CPR certification required at start date.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
